My kids were gone this week, so I don’t have a new craft, but I found one in my archives that is great to make before all of the upcoming summer trips:
I’m a big fan of Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns and the like. I try my best to hit their stuff on the sales, because the prices are so good then.
So, we stopped by Michael’s and each child picked out a box to decorate and some little wooden charms. The charms are nice because you can get pre-colored or not as you like.
When we got home they quite happily set to work painting with acrylic paint (why the boy has no shirt on, that stuff doesn’t come out).
They didn’t end up gluing on their charms, but stored them in their treasure boxes.
Now you have a wonderful box to store all of their wonderful finds in, that has the added advantage of keeping the amount of “treasures” they bring home to what fits in the box.
By the way, what treasures did Superman bring home from Nana and Granddad’s this week?
A sandwich bag full of snail shells. Yes, little itty bitty snail shells. Nana was not willing to keep the shells for us……… He worked very hard finding every single one he could in her yard.
